The web is full of "trial versions" of the SIM editor - but they actually seem to be just powerpoint-type slideshows about it.
Is that right?
Is there actually a trial version of it available?

Of course there is, check out SIM Manager (http://www.dekart.com/products/card_management/sim_manager/)'s page, there's a 'download' button right there, here's a direct link: http://www.dekart.com/pub/products/SIM%20Manager%202/current/English/SIMManager.exe
I think you're talking about other programs, because we do not release Powerpoint presentations of our products.
Either way, the trial version is fully functional, and it works with any PC/SC reader, not only the one we offer; I hope SIM Manager is the solution you were looking for.

Hi Alex,
thankd for quick reply.
No I mean SIM explorer, like here...
http://www.dekart.com/products/card_management/sim_explorer/
sorry, i mis-typed "explorer" as "editor"
the ppt-type file can be found here.

I know it's an exe, biut it's a 'slideshow'. Everywhere you find it on the web it says it's a "trial version", but in fact it's a show-and-tell.

SIM Explorer is indeed not publicly available; it is a pricey product, so it was decided that it would not be distribuited like other software we develop.
What exactly are you interested in? If the demo is not informative enough, I could create more screenshots and focus on the details you are looking for. I understand that the demo published on web-sites is not an equivalent of a 'classic trial version', so if I can balance that with screenshots or precise descriptions - let me know.

Thanks Alex,
The thing I mainly wanted was to be sure what the situation was - I was confused by all the web links to "trial versions" which were actually demos.
I don't know if I need to buy a sim explorer... yet
I probably only want a "SIM dump" capability. No editing ability.
Just to be able to see the contents of all standard SIM files in readable form would be a huge help.
I have a GPRS modem, and in theory I can write my own SIM commands to view/alter things if I need to, and I'm not even sure I need to!
I'm just trying to build up enough expertise on running GPRS-using outstations on the far side of the earth. If the problem is a funny SIM setting I want to be able to see it. But as I don't currently have any such problems I will have trouble buying an expensive umbrella before it rains.
What would be very useful ( to me ) would be to know why I would want to buy yours rather than this product ( which is a lot cheaper )

Thanks for your time.
