Hi, I just bought the dekart logon product, and its seemed to work with one usb key. However, when I try to make another key for my mp3 player as backup, and it worked. When I removed the usb from my computer, it showed the login screen, but the program froze(while the second usb was still in there). I put back the mp3 player, entered the pin, but the program kept on saying"processing key, and I waited for about 10 minutes. So I clicked the shutdown button, and rebooted my computer. After, when I try to insert my keys, it logged in, but then after a few seconds it logged out. This means I couldn't use the computer, so I just reinstalled the OS. I only have one computer, and it really takes lots of time and internet bandwith to do this. What should I do?

How did you make the copy of the key?
Did you do "safe hardware removal" when disconnecting the key?

The quick fix is NOT to reinstall the OS, that will indeed take a long time. Simply boot into safe mode and change the program's configuration to allow logon without a key (i.e. by entering a password); this means that you need to know the password.

After, when I try to insert my keys, it logged in, but then after a few seconds it logged out.
We need more details:
How long does it take before you are logged out?
Do you see any messages on the screen?
Which setting do you use for "key remove behaviour"?

Note: logging on via safe mode is not a security issue (http://www.dekart.com/en/support/faq/nfaq/#safe_mode_logon).

I clicked add, to my computer account so that I can make the backup key. Yes, I did use the safely remove hardware. The quick fix using safe mode..., it still didn't work because like I told you, it logges me out around 3 seconds after it says loading document and settings. In total, I wait about 8 seconds. So, I had no choice but to reinstall the OS. the setting I used were " activate lock screen upon removal of key" or something like that.

If the system kept logging you off after a few seconds even if you were in safe mode, then my guess is that there are other factors involved in this problem.

Once you boot in safe mode, Dekart Logon modules are not loaded, therefore they cannot affect you in any way.

Now that the OS was reinstalled, we can't find out what was causing this issue. Nevertheless, I am confident that the culprit was elsewhere.

Note: another guess is that you were using "safe mode with networking", and in that case Logon is loaded, so if the error was caused by it, the system would continue behaving that way. Was that the case?
