I'm using PDP 2.04 trial version with a 80 gig virtual disk. Every other day I copy a large batch of files, around 6 gig, to the DPD virtual disk. I start the copy with Windows Explorer and leave it on the background while I do my office work with other applications. My concern is that DPD generates a 40-70% CPU load during that 10 to 15 minutes while the files are copied to the virtual disk. I cannot do effectively any work during that time.
I understand that DPD requires a lot of processor capasity to do all the encrypting and processing for the files. For a development idea I would suggest that DPD options would include some simple methods to set process priority to a lower level or throttle max CPU usage. On the expense of virtual disk speed, of course.

Is anything being done to the high CPU usage?
An option to use lower priority would solve the issue.

We are planning to implement such a feature.
Sorry for not replying earlier [your message has been here for quite a while]. The feature is indeed very useful.
Adding it is in our plans, but we are currently focused on other tasks, so I cannot tell you whether we can implement it soon or not.
I will increase its priority in our to-do list, this should speed up the process.
