Trying to authenticate my secure key USB token device through a VPN connection from my home PC to Work and it doesn't see it to be able to authenticate? Both workstations are on the same Domain connected via VPN. Everything works fine when the secure token device is either connected directly to the work pc or via another computer directly connected to the LAN. Any suggestions why it is not seeing the USB device from my home location? When using the allow logon only with key option for strong authentication it renders my accessless from home. That's a deal breaker! :)

The problem is caused by the fact that the remote computer does not see your USB token.

Dekart Logon, being installed on a computer, verifies the devices attached to it and acts accordingly (ex: Logoff if device removed, Logon if device connected); but it does not do any network activity, so it cannot see a device attached to a different computer.

We are thinking about creating a solution for cases like yours, but that is very unlikely to be implemented soon. We are still in the process of gathering statistics to decide what to do, and which environments to adapt to.

Which VPN client do you use?

The Microsoft client to connect via VPN, then RDP to my work computer. I have been trying various things to get it to work. Is there any way to create a mapped drive on my work computer to the USB port on my home computer so that it recognizes it? Also, in computer management, storage, were it lists the devices and corresponding drive letter. Could one of these be changed to point to the virtual drive letter mapping instead? Just brainstorming some ideas...

P.S. I did find a compromise. in Windows 2003 Server under terminal services configuration, choose connections and then the RDP-tcp connection to the right, right click and choose properties, then under the general tab there is an option to "use standard Windows Login Interface". This of course defeats the strong authentication objectives via a VPN connection but you can still have your product enabled with two factor authentication via the console.

I purchased the product and like everything else! Hope you can add this function in the future.

AVUSBD is designed to solve problems of this kind. The use of our technology gives the possibility to give the remote access to USB port via TCP/IP.
This is an utility I've played with. Does it's job, but sometimes it just doesn't work. Maybe it is still a raw product?

In hopes that I can add to your statistics, I too would like remote access via Dekart Logon.

You offer the TLogon product for SSH access to Linux, so I think the parallel product would be to allow Dekart's USB Token authentication via the Windows Remote Desktop Connection client. In this way administrators could save a number of server & account profiles on the key, and then use your software to initiate the RDC/TS connection with the appropriate password.

Has there been any resolution to the RDP login via the MS VPN???

We are looking at the Dekart software and it looks good, but we have to have secure login from home.

Me too! I tried your USB login solution and it's great but I need it to work with RDP.

Hope you sort this soon guys :)
