Dekart Logon with Windows 98 SE

Hi!

I'm trying to use dekart logon Ver. 2.21 with Windows 98 SE.
Once registered one user on the smart card, on system boot the dekart logon appears inviting me to introduce my username and password or the card. If password is introduced all is ok. But if the card is introduced, nothing happens.
Once the system is up, if i disconnect from windows, the dekart logon is once again presented. But this time, introducing the card i'm been asked the PIN. So all is ok.
Why not at boot time ?

Antonio, this is indeed strange, please tell me

which card reader and smart card you are using
have you tried it on other Windows 98 SE computers? [if so, what were the results?]
