Please check whether this file is located in C:\Windows\System32, and tell me what is this file's version (should be 1.4.xxxx).
Do you use the English or the French version of the program?

I am having the same problem as "unregistered" only I am using the English version. For myself, the answer to Alex Railean's question, "Is dkar.dll in the System 32 folder is "yes". Is that where it is supposed to be? There is another copy of it in the Password Carrier folder too (which is working perfectly as far as I can tell.
I am not a techie. I have some basic low level working knowledge, enough to be able to follow instructions if they are in layman's terms (as opposed to computer talk). I loved Private Disk Lite and am anxious to get the real thing going. But all I get is that error code 0000007F with the message that "an error occurred while loading dkar.dll" and that "the specified procedure could not be found."
Will moving the file from System 32 to the Private Disk file do it?

No, since the program can load dkar.dll just fine, if it is in \System32.
The most probable cause of the problem is that you are using a version of the dll which is incompatible with the version of the program.
- which version of Private Disk are you running?
- how did you install it? using the distributive, or by manually copying the files?
Perhaps it happens so that you used an older version in the past, and now you've upgraded by manually copying the files, instead of using the standard installer?
p.s. also indicate the version and the size of dkar.dll located in \System32

I was currently using Private Disk Light 1.22 for Windows when I decided to upgrade to the full feature Dekart Private Disk. I purchased DPD and Dekart Password Carrier and downloaded them in succession from the Dekart website. The version of Private Disk downloaded is 2.07. [The dkar.dll file is in both the \System32 folder and the Dekart Password Carrier folder -- both have identical properties: version 1.4.0.4 size 157 KB. The Password Carrier is working well--but my usage has been limited.] Please get me through this. I really want to get this up and running. And, thanks for your quick response to my first post.

Hmm, I think I know what the problem is, but I'm not sure.
Download this version of dkar.dll (http://files.dekart.com/dkarpd207.zip) and save it to Private Disk's folder. Does it fix the problem?

No, that didn't do it.
Here is something that may be a clue (remember I'm a neophyte). To get to Private Disk on the start panel I have to go to All Programs>Dekart>Private Carrier>Private Disk. When I click "Dekart" I get a choice of "Private Disk Light" and "Password Carrier". When I click "Password Carrier" I get "Install to removeable device", "Password Carrier Help", "Private Disk" "Private Disk Help", "Readme" and "Uninstall".

IT DID WORK!! I hadn't realized the file was in a sub-folder. So I just moved it into the Private Disk Folder and and it worked. Thanks so much!
PS I like this concept of a forum. I found reading other people's problems hekpful in learning more about the products. Thanks again.
