At my request Cingular sent me a 64K SIM to replace my 32K SIM. I was told it was preprogrammed with my phone number. Using another product I copied my 32K SIM to a disk file and it appears to have copied the names and number correctly. I then inserted the 64K SIM in the other product reader and attempted to copy the data back to the SIM. When inserted in my phone, a Samsung SGH-X427, the phone appears to have the phone numbers in it but I cannot place a call. I get an immediate 'call ended' message or an 'Emergency calls only'. Will your SIM reader and SIM Manager be able to do this correctly and if so, how do I do it?:)

I think the problem is in the fact that you have to disable the old card first. Having two cards with the same phone number will make it impossible for the carrier to route calls correctly. Imagine that somebody calls your number; the two cards that have the same number are inside different phones; which phone should receive the call?

So I think you need to contact them and mention that you've received the card, and afterwards they will apply the necessary changes, that will activate your 64K card (and deactivate the old 32K card).

You cannot transfer protected data from one card to another (such as the data that determines your phone number), because this information is protected by the SIM card's transport key.
