lost pass word

hello i am french student in BTS electronique second year!

logon don't detect my USB key, i have lost my pass word, so i can open my pc but can't enter in my work session because logon ask me my pass word or my USB key ! can you help me please on my pc i have my report of stage is't importante for my diplôme.

Julien, do you mean that you forgot the PIN assigned to the key? Or the password which corresponds to your account?


If you know the password, you can boot the PC to safe mode and logon by typing your user credentials.
If you forgot the PIN, and you used Logon's secure password generator - then you won't be able to logon via safe mode.


Alternatives - perhaps there are other user accounts on your system? If so, you can log on with a different user. Another fast solution is to connect the hard disk to another computer and explore its file system.


Also, please tell me which USB key you use, is it a token or a flash disk? Are there any error messages? Was the key physically damaged?
