Hi Alex,
Received the new Delart SIM card reader today. Tried installing it with the drivers I have from the earlier version. But have incorrect indication when checking the device manager. It has the exclamation point in yellow.
So I don't know if the drivers are right or wrong for the new one, or if I'm just doing something wrong. Here's what I'm doing.
I run SIMreader.exe. Agree to the license info. Then it puts the drivers into c:\program files\dekart\simreader. It then says finished and to reboot. Reboot, put the reader into the USB port and the XP wizard finally appears. It asks where the drivers are located. I tell it the above location. But the process says it fails after that point. I'm guessing the drivers are wrong? But the plastic housing is black and I can't see if it is still using the Alcor chip or some new one.
BTW did you check the one I sent back? My suspicion says the problem it was having was one of the inside 2 pins on the USB connector had a cold solder joint. The two outside pins supply power and the LED would light so I'd think they were OK.
