When I write records to my SIM card from SIM Manager 2, it writes empty records, which the phone is seeing as "No Name" records. Thus my SIM is full and I can't add new contacts from the phone.
What is going on? Thanks, Jim Link Plano, TX jimlink at usa dot net Last edited by Alex Railean : October 26th, 2009 at 05:47. Reason: obfuscated email address |

Which version of SIM Manager do you have?
Also, what kind of a SIM is that? 3G or 2G?

The SIM Manager is version 2.4.
It's a 3G SIM card. Thanks! |

The latest version is 2.5, please give it a try and let me know if the problem persists.
The update from 2.4 to 2.5 is free. |

Okay, I upgraded to version 2.5. It is still writing "No Name" records to the phone book. It's not supposed to be doing this, it is?

Is anyone going to follow up on this question? The SIM Manager is still writing records that the phone sees as "No Name" records, which basically fill up the SIM card so I can't add new records. Of course I can delete the "No Name" records off the phone every time I make any changes in the SIM Manager and write the changes to the SIM card, but this is very inconvenient. Is there some way to tell the SIM Manager to leave the empty records truly empty on the SIM card?
Thanks! |

Try disabling "Allow gaps in phonebook", if the problem persists after that, please enable the logging mode and send us the logs.
The logs will be stored in C:\Documents and Settings\ <user name>\Application Data\Dekart |

Okay, I disabled "Allow gaps in phonebook", and the "No Name" records are still in the phone's phone book.
I have attached the logs. By the way, when I write the records back to the SIM card, the PIN2 dialog appears, and nothing appears to happen when I click "OK". (I do not have a PIN2 set, that I am aware of.) When I click "Cancel" in the PIN2 dialog, I think the write continues, but I'm not sure. Regards, Jim Link |

Is there some resolution for this problem? Am I stuck with having to delete the "No Name" records from my phone every time I update the SIM from SIM Manager?
