Windows 7 SIM Card Reader driver

Does anyone know where I can get a Windows 7 driver for the SIM Card Reader?

Well, my first question is what's wrong with today's driver? (this one: _ttp://www.dekart.com/pub/products/SIM%20Reader%203/current/English/SIMReader3.exe)

Other questions:

• Do you have a 32-bit or a 64-bit version of Windows?
• If the driver on the link above does not work, what is the error message?
• If it doesn't work, does this one? _ttp://files.dekart.com/drivers/DK38-PCSC-2K-XP-Vista-VistaX64.zip (unzip it and point Windows to this directory when it asks for a driver)

Hi Alex,

I will need to check the specific error messages this evening when I get home from work.

For now, I can tell you that the Windows 7 installation did a compatibility test and warned me that the SIM Card Reader driver would not work under Windows 7. Sure enough, it doesn't work.

I had Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit running before the upgrade, so now I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The SIM Card Reader driver SIMReader3.exe worked fine under Vista 64-bit. In fact, this is one of the main reasons that I got the Dekart reader: The specs said it worked under 64-bit Vista.

I will try the VistaX64 driver tonight.

A lot of people use the driver on Windows 7 and they're fine with it. This must be some kind of an exception, but I am sure we'll be able to figure it out.

Hi Alex,

I successfully installed the Vista 64-bit driver that you suggested on 11/30, today. Windows 7 is happy with it.

I also had to uninstall the older SIMReader3 driver so the computer doesn't also try to find it, when I plug in the reader. So with the old driver deleted and the new driver installed, all is well.

That's what i get when i bought it.
Now is see version 2.5 is out in Beta
When i use my installation ID on 2.5 it's still saying that is only 30 days working

The latest version of SIM Manager is 2.6, you can download it from this address: http://www.dekart.com/pub/products/S...SIMManager.exe

The Windows 7 driver posted in the previous message works with the reader in this picture


It makes no difference which version of SIM Manager you are using; whether it is 1.x or 2.x - the driver is tied to the reader itself, not SIM Manager.

This problem is fixed in SIM Manager 2.6; update to it and let me know how things went.

Everythng went fine except the license key.
I still got the message that my copy is not licensed and only got 29 days left for usage

Hope you can help me.
I received de stick last tuesday. A mail with instricions and license key reached me about 2 weeks ago

Hi Willem, I understand the cause of the problem.

You got the reader, which comes with a free license for SIM Manager 1.x, while the program you are using is SIM Manager 2.x - they use different types of registration numbers, which explains why the number is not accepted.

If the features of SIM Manager 1.09 are enough for you, then:

• ftp://ftp.dekart.com/pub/products/SI...SIMManager.exe
• Install it, use "Run as administrator" when registering the program for the first time (the number will be accepted and not be asked again)

If the features of SIM Manager 2.x are a must-have (and I must say the 2.x version is much more feature-rich than the 1.x branch), then you can use this update procedure: http://www.dekart.com/en/store/speci...simmanupgrade/
